A while back I wrote about the "Cathedral of Junk" in South Austin. For all who have experienced this flagship of the "Keep Austin Weird" movement John Kelso's column in the Statesman will be met with dismay.
It seems that someone complained to the city that the Cathedral is a hazard. Now the city wants it permitted or town down. You can read the article here. I've been there. It seems more solid than some parking garages I've driven in.
