I did not grow up with a lot of home improvement projects. Or, perhaps, I was just not really aware of them. So I am always impressed when folks take on a project around the house. Richard, who's been making his living doing such for years must think I'm pretty silly.
I bought my house when I was in my early 30's. A couple of years later my neighbor Greg did his first remodeling job for me. It included taking down the wall between the kitchen and the living room. Until that wall came down it never crossed my mind that you could change a wall. I mean even the color.
I'm embarrassed to say that it was another ten years until I actually changed any of the colors in my house. Paint? Who knew? But during Greg's second remodeling of my house all the walls got painted. I didn't do it. But I earned the money which paid to have it done. Regardless...at the ripe old age of 40 I picked paint colors and no longer had white walls.
So, when I see folks who take on major remodeling-or even my back door neighbor who painted her whole apartment, I'm in awe.

Well Craig and Yvonne are way past doing a little remodeling. I ran across the website of their Victorian Home renovation a while back and just reread the section on JUST their parlor. AMAZING!!! Amazing. Above is a "before picture".

Here's a small section of their parlor after almost a year of work. And don't think it's just cosmetic. Read the description. Have I said-AMAZING!
