The RS (Rolling Stone Magazine) 500 Greatest Songs of All Time
Here are a few that stuck out for me:
24. People Get Ready, The Impressions, Jan. '65
34. You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', The Righteous Brothers, Dec. '64
40. Dancing in the Street, Martha and the Vandellas, Sept. '64
54. When a Man Loves a Woman, Percy Sledge, March '66
57. Whiter Shade of Pale, Procol Harum, June '67
63. For What It's Worth, Buffalo Springfield
Who knew it was called For What It's Worth?
75. Whole Lotta Love, Led Zeppelin
80. I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Marvin Gaye
113. Up on the Roof, The Drifters
115. You Send Me, Sam Cooke
I lost interest after about # 150. Check it out. Especially if you're over 40 or 50 or 60. Enjoy
Sway me GrapeMan!
#63, one of my favorite songs. I have a vivid memory at age 10 of listening to my hand held transistor radio while walking to school and really getting into the song.
