Laptopping in the Lap of luxury

.
I'm making about 100 calls a night for work these days. I'm not quite sure I can see the end of the tunnel but I think so.

With 3 or 4 nights a week spent with my laptop actually on my lap I was getting pretty hot and pretty miserable. So I set out to find a more comfortable way to have the laptop on my lap.

I did a bunch of research and decided on the LapDawg X4. It came yesterday. It's all aluminum and hinges. Richard Card, my young film maker friend, and Bruce my next door neighbor and I spent at least 30 minutes honing the angles of the three adjusting arms-or maybe they're legs.

At one point we were all laughing so hard we almost stopped to get the video camera.

I used the LapDawg for my calls last night and again tonight. It was pretty expensive-about $100, But I've decided it was well worth it. I've done some further adjusting and I love it. I have it set at just the right angle for couch sitting. It's easy to type on and yet it's holding the laptop about 3 inches off my legs. So no heat transfer. I just felt the underside of the tray and it's not hot at all.

If you're looking for a way to get your laptop off your lap I highly recommend it. There is much info and a lot of great pictures to be seen at their site.

I took this picture w/ my iPhone-sorry it's not better but I have not yet purchased an Extendo Arm.
