Maybe it's not so tricky

...
I found this little ditty while stumbling this evening. Go ahead and try it. Thoughts afterward.

2% or 98% of Population?
Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them .... really. Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

THINK of a number from 1 to 10
MULTIPLY that number by 9
If the number is a 2-digit number, ADD the digits together
Now SUBTRACT 5
DETERMINE which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.)
THINK of a country that starts with that letter
REMEMBER the last letter of the name of that country
THINK of the name of an animal that starts with that letter
REMEMBER the last letter in the name of that animal
THINK of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter
Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?

Isn't that FREAKY!! If not for you, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. However, 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark eating oranges when given this exercise.
I am firmly part of the 98%. Here's how it happened I think.

It starts with the number sequence. As it turns out any number you pick, after the manipulation, will come out 4.
Pick 2 x 9=18 add 1+8=9-5=4
Pick 3 x 9=27 add 2+7=9-5=4
Pick 4 x 9=36 add 3+6=9-5=4
etc. etc. etc.

Now, that leaves you with a "D" how many countries do you know which begin with a D? I tried to think of something other than Denmark but I couldn't and decided to just get strung along.

Then you come to the last letter of Denmark. A "K" - in retrospect I could have gone with a Koala but I didn't think of it at the time. So Kangaroo it is.

That just leaves a fruit which begins with "O". Hard to think of a fruit which begins with an "O" that isn't an Orange.

And that's how we all ended up with an Orange eating Kangaroo from Denmark. Or did someone actually end up somewhere else? I'd love to hear about it if you did.
